Welcome winter (no, we're not kidding)
July 17, 2009Cool off with a Snow Day at the Rink Side Ice Arena, within the vast confines of Gurnee Mills Mall. While it's almost blasphemous around these parts to even think about the fluffy white stuff (especially in a season that has failed to yield its share of coveted scorchers), who doesn't love playing in the snow? A big, freezing pile of the rush-hour commuter's worst nightmare will be dumped onto the floor of the ice rink for the frolicking pleasure of all those who remember the joy of giving birth to a Frosty look-alike and reveling in making snow angels. Welcome back winter for just over an hour. 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Rink Side Ice Arena at Gurnee Mills Mall, 6152 Grand Ave., Gurnee. $6 for adult non-members, $5 for adult members, $5 for non-members under 12, $4 for members under 12; 847-856-1064 ext. 302 or rink-side.com.
